Country Lead - France
£70-80k | Permanent (open to flexible working arrangements) | Reporting to CEO
We are looking for our Country Lead for France, a hugely exciting opportunity to lead an international expansion project for a VC-backed business in the food industry. This role will set our organisation up for explosive growth in France by developing a deep understanding of our target market and customer base, overseeing and overcoming local operational complexities, driving ambitious commercial growth and building a terrific team.
We have ambitious plans and are growing fast. Already operating in France in stealth-mode, we’re convinced that now is the right time to accelerate growth and that’s why we’re looking for our Country Lead to help us grow as fast as possible whilst establishing strong operational foundations.
You will be preferably London-based and benefit from flexible hours and optional remote working. The position will require frequent travel between London and mainly Paris and Lille to start with, expanding to other cities in due course.

What you’ll be doing
Your primary duty is to lead the establishment of our operations and the growth of our business in France, including:
Building an operations and growth strategy to be deployed in France for us to aggressively capture this market and position ourselves as the new upcoming challenger in the food wholesale industry
Working closely with our established London team to get a deep understanding of how we operate, how we sell and how we work together
Figuring out how we translate the best of these processes and ways of working into a newly established French operation
Performing intensive market research on the Paris - and more broadly the French - market to assess the scope of the opportunity relative to the opportunity in the UK
Spending a good amount of time in Paris, in the field, building the necessary foundations and partnerships to develop our new distribution model and last-mile solution in France
Being hands-on and pushing doors to sign new accounts and help us achieve ambitious sales targets within 6 months after your start
Planning and hiring talents in sales and operations to support you on a day-to-day basis
Tracking KPIs, metrics and progress and building reports and sharing updates with the broader team
What we’re looking for
Bilingual: fluent in both French and English
A clear understanding of the food wholesale industry (operations and sales)
Previous experience in launching and growing a business in a new country
Someone who can take ownership, execute fast and report in an efficient way
Able to step back, define a plan and strategy and track progress
A creative mind and an analytical approach to problem solving
A great communicator (external and internal)
Some with operational experience who can demonstrate commercial acumen
An abundance of energy and drive

You have previously sold to or worked with restaurants and chefs
An extensive understanding of the food and hospitality industry in Paris
An existing network to be activated of restaurants and other potential customers

Hybrid office based (Notting Hill Gate, London) and remote working model - whilst you can work from the office five days a week if preferred, you can choose to work up to 2 days a week remotely
